The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners

The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners logoThe Company was established in 1986 as the City of London's 97th Livery Company, having been formed as a City Guild in 1974.Membership is made up of some 250 senior directors and managers, representing the majority of Britain's top cleaning and support service management companies, as well as manufacturers and suppliers to the industry.

Between them, the companies represented employ in excess of one million cleaning and service staff and manage the day to day cleaning of a substantial proportion of Britain's commercial and public buildings.

The Company is, therefore, uniquely placed to understand the cleaning needs of all types of building and to highlight the benefits to be gained from addressing the issue of cleanability, at an early stage in building design and construction.

Royal Institute of British Architects

RIBA logoThe Royal Institute of British Architects is delighted to be associated with the Building Cleanability Awards. Buildings designed to be cleaned efficiently and safely are good for the users, clients and society in general.  It is fundamental that efficient and practical design is recognised and highlighted to the remainder of the industry.

The RIBA continue their support of these awards and look to developing a closer link to the cleaning industry, identifying common ground for good practice in the design and specification of finishes and cleaning methods.
Good practice is needed to ensure health and safety and sustainable use of resources. It is hoped these Awards promote both in exemplars of British design.

British Cleaning Council

British Cleaning Council logoBCC has grown from five founder member bodies, at its set-up in 1982, to a current membership of 19 trade associations, research and educational institutions representing contract cleaners to environmental campaigners and toilet campaigners to cleaning trainers.

We provide a forum for member bodies to liaise and discuss industry-wide improvements. As co-owners of the Cleaning Show we use any funding we receive to plough directly back into the industry into improvement schemes.

We believe we fully encompass the UK cleaning industry and are proud to represent it in all its glory. Cleaning is now a professional industry with excellent opportunities.

It is a vital service cross-sectioning all other industrial sectors. Without adequate cleaning provision many other services would grind to a halt. For further information see:
