The 2009/2010 Building Cleanability Awards Sponsor/Corporate Champion Supporter Benefits

The Building Cleanability Awards were introduced by the cleaning industry Livery Company – The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners in 1995.

The Awards are designed to promote an increased awareness of the cleaning needs and cleanability issues relevant to all commercial and public buildings, at all stages of design, construction and operational management.

Seven biennial Awards schemes have been held so far and over 300 buildings have been assessed for building cleanability across the ten separate entry categories.

The 2009/2010 Awards scheme is being run in association with The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT). This is an important development, indicating the willingness of the architectural profession to help progress the concept of the Awards, namely, the recognition of the vital relationship between a building’s design and its cost effective cleaning.

The British Cleaning Council is Patron of the Awards and there are opportunities for companies and organisations associated with the building industry to become involved with the Awards as Sponsors or Corporate Champion Supporters. Benefits applicable to both Awards Sponsors and Corporate Champion Supporters are detailed below.

The Awards are supported by a number of other professional bodies, including - The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, The British Institute of Facilities Management, The Health and Safety Executive, The Chartered Institute of Building, The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management and The Cleaning and Support Services Association.

The 2009/2010 Awards will cover buildings located throughout Great Britain and Ireland and entries can be submitted through until 31st December 2009.

Each building entered will receive a detailed assessment for cleanability and the 2009/2010 Awards scheme will conclude with a prestigious Awards Presentation Luncheon on Monday 12th July 2010 at London’s famous Guildhall.

The 2009/2010 Awards will be promoted through until the end of December 2009.
