The Awards
The
2007/08 Building Cleanability Awardsscheme was officially ‘launched’ at the cleaning industry’s Livery Company Luncheon on Monday 9th July at Trinity House, London
The biennial Awards scheme was introduced in 1995 to promote an increased awareness of the cleaning needs and cleanability issues relevant to all commercial and public buildings, at all stages of design, construction and operational management.
Six Awards schemes have been held so far and nearly 300 buildings have been assessed for building cleanability across the ten separate nominating categories.
The Awards are supported by a number of associated professional bodies – including The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, The British Institute of Facilities Management, The Health and Safety Executive, The Chartered Institute of Building, The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, The British Institute of Cleaning Science and The Cleaning and Support Services Association.
The British Cleaning Council is Patron of the Awards and there are opportunities for companies and organisations associated with the building industry to become involved with the Awards as Sponsors or Corporate Champion Supporters.
The 2007/2008 Awards will cover buildings located throughout Great Britain and Ireland and nominations can be submitted through until 31st December 2007.
Building nominations can be submitted anytime from now until the end of December 2007 with assessment visits taking place between September 2007 and March 2008.
Each building nominated will receive a detailed assessment for cleanability and the 2007/2008 Awards scheme will conclude with a prestigious Awards Presentation Luncheon on Monday 30th June 2008 in London’s famous Guildhall. Make a note of the date now!
